Race 6 ~ OC50k/SAL50k
6 Furlongs on Dirt
8 horses compete in this starter optional claiming event. They horses will run for a $36,000 purse and go 6 furlongs on the dirt.
#7 Took Charge is a first time gelding for trainer Peter Miller. This horse shipped in from New York, and Miller tried his luck with him last time on the turf.
This uncontrollable speed ball just took off and lead most of the race before fading late. He is dropping in class and after being gelded this may help him to relax a little.
There is a little speed to his inside, so this outside draw helps a lot in a race like this.
#8 I Got No Munny is making his 4 th career start. He is switching post positions, last out breaking from the rail he dropped back and found himself 4 wide.
Today breaking from the outside hopefully he finds a nice trouble free ride with jockey JJ Hernandez. This outside draw along with his closing ability will come in handy if the pace gets hot. This 4 year old gelding out of Munnings might be traveling best late.

Race 7 ~ The Fran’s Valentine
1 Mile on Turf
Today’s feature race at Santa Anita. This one mile race has a couple speedy sprinters stretching out to two turns and this pace should be fast.
#4 Bella Vita should get first run on the closers. She last ran on turf in the Irish O’Brien Stakes at Santa Anita. This 4 year old filly has run 4 times on turf, her worst effort was a 3rd place finish to today’s morning line favorite #5 Warren’s Showtime.
She ran on dirt last out against the classy Ce Ce and didn’t fair all that well. Getting back on turf and facing state breds should help this one improve.
#6 Pulpit Rider draws the outside post. With a fast pace today this 5 year old mare should be flying late. Top jockey Flavian Prat rides today for trainer Mike Puype.
This will be her second race after a 6 month layoff. Last out she broke a little slow sprinting, but still saved some ground and ran on for 5th. Going two turns should help this gal get back on track.
Santa Anita Play Of The Day
***We make our selections on a theoretical $20 base wager. We will give out $20 daily double wagers on this website. Remember, these wagers are theoretical and we use a $20 wager for two reasons. Firstly, because our plays usually run between $40-$60, which is a reasonable bankroll and secondly it’s easy to keep track of our winnings and loses per month. ***
Lets fire a daily double(s), because that’s what we do.
