A new week begins and we are hoping the weather will cooperate with us handicappers. The forecast says cloudy and about 60 degrees. That sounds like great racing weather so we look for the track to be fast and firm.

3 Expert Betting Tips For Keeneland Race Course

Race 5 ~ Alw 81000N1X

1 Mile 1/8 on Turf

This race is an allowance race for fillies and mares going 1 1/8 miles on the turf. This race has 12 competitors and 11 of these 12 are looking for their second career win. Long shot #12 Ballymore Star is a maiden racing against winners.

#5 Linny Kate starts for the 4th time in her career for the Chad Brown barn. She draws a better post than she had in her last two starts. She finally gets off the rail and finds herself in the 5 hole today. Two starts back at Belmont 7:51 she found a little trouble trying to swoops the field. She had issues with other horses drifting into her.

#5 Linny Kate did have a tune up for this contest down at Gulfstream Park. She ran on for 3rd, the second place finisher came back and won next time out. This race is a little longer (1 1/8 miles) than the previous race at Gulfstream (1 1/16 miles) so maybe stretching out a little helps.

This runner doesn’t look like one of Chad Brown’s best horses, but you have to respect the connections as well as top jockey Joel Rosario who gets a leg up.

#6 Tasaamuh is saddled by trainer Graham Motion. This horse is making its North American debut. This 4 year old filly was pretty successful racing in Great Britain. She hit the board in 3 of her 4 career races. Her only win was going 1 3/16 on synthetic but she has raced over the turf before and collected a second place finish going 1 mile.

Graham Motion does well with new acquisitions to his barn, hitting at a 25% clip out of 32 runners. He teams up with the meets leading rider Luis Saez here.

Update #6 Tasaamuh is a Scratched

#9 Stand Tall returns to Keeneland where she broke her maiden back in July of 2020. Two months later she traveled down to Kentucky Downs and found herself competing with a few classy fillies Micheline , Harvey’s Lil Goil and Luck Money.

She ran a more than respectable, finishing 5th only 3 3/4 lengths behind a 4 time stakes winner in Micheline. Trainer George Arnold gave her time off after she was flat in a race at Churchill Downs in November.

She comes back fresh off of a 5 month layoff and this race doesn’t have any multiple stakes winners in the field. If she is tuned up she could add a second Keeneland winner’s circle picture to her collection.

Race 6 ~ Maiden Claiming 50000

1 1/16 Mile on Dirt

#6 Legendary Gift try’s to get trainer Eddie Kenneally another winner. He picked up his first win of the meet in race 6 on Sunday. This gal is dropping in class from her initial start at Gulfstream Park. She faced two horses that would race at Keeneland In graded stakes races on opening weekend. Slumber Party and Pass the Champagne.

#6 Legendary Gift had speed in her first race chasing the eventual winner Slumber Party that day. With her speed dropping and stretching out to this 1 1/16 distance she could be dangerous.

Trainer Todd Pletcher saddles the runner to the inside #5 Deemed Essential. The horses that Pletcher has brought to Lexington have all been firing for the most part. Pletcher has won with 7 of his first 10 runners at this meet.
